Draft Analysis 2

1st Round - QB - JaMarcus Russell (LSU) (76 rank) - Not well thought of at a 76, but plays way better than that. His size and decent speed allows for time in the pocket to launch to ball deep and fairly on target. No Brady Quinn at accuracy but good.

1st Round Grade = B+

2nd Round - WR - Robert Meachem (Tennessee) (85 rank) - In the Draft Analysis Game he stood out greatly. Dropping nothing with good speed. One of the best WR's coming out of the draft.

2nd Round Grade = A-

3rd Round - CB - Aaron Ross (Texas) (82 rank) - The Bucs obviously have a great draft going, and this man didn't hurt it. Stand out corner who most likely will be a Hall of Famer in the future. His lower ranking of 82 doesn't hurt him, playing like a 92 with Champ Bailey coverage and great speed.

3rd Round Grade = A

4th Round - OLB - LaMarr Woodley (Michigan) (80 rank) - Good potential for the young LB. Pretty good run stopper and decent covering speed. He's no Lawerence Timmons or Patrick Willis, but he'll do for the Bucs along side Derrick Brooks.

4th Round Grade = B

5th Round - SS - Brandon Merriweather (Miami) (78 rank) - Tough to decide with all the great rookie DB's, he doesn't stand out like LaRon Landry, Tom Zbikowski, or Michael Griffin, but decent tackler and coverage.

5th Round Grade = C+

6th Round - OT - Joe Thomas (Wisconsin) (75 rank) - Considered the best lineman out of the draft, will drastically add strength and desire to the needy Tampa Bay line. Excellent open field blocker, with nasty pancakes.

6th Round Grade = B-

7th Round - WR - Sydney Rice (South Carolina) (78 rank) - Just when the Bucs were doing so well... This pick is considered okay, but not good by any means. In the Draft Analysis Game, we'll just say he couldn't catch a cold in hospital. One game can't decide a career, but if I have to make a guess this is no Jerry Rice on our hands.

7th Round Grade = C-

Overall Grade = B+
